ALL BREED RESERVE CHAMPION - TWICE!
Norstar, CGH was born at our
facility in Oregon. He has traveled thousands of miles, through many states, being a
terrific ambassador for the Haflinger breed. In halter shows, Norstar achieved
"All Breed Reserve Champion" two years in a row at a large county fair in
Washington. As a yearling, at the National Haflinger Show and Futurity in Ohio, and
again at the GLHA Futurity in Michigan, Norstar consistently placed 4th against very stiff
competitors, under different judges, including International Haflinger Judges.
Norstar was taught to drive a cart during his
second year, including driven dressage, cones courses, and a mini 4 mile marathon course.
We began riding him lightly at 2 1/2 years old. In
early Spring, of 2002, Norstar was ridden 6 days a week, for a
month, on open trails in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon. At 4
years old, he started dressage training 3 days a week. He is very
cooperative, tries very hard to please and accepts all his jobs
willingly. Norstar has a
wonderful, gentle temperament. In the pasture, Norstar was "the
boys" babysitter for younger geldings and stud
colts. Norstar
is currently 14.2 h and may grow a bit more by the time he is 6
years old. He has had meticulous health care and a
"Health & Maintenance Record" will be provided. |
